I’m not bad myself, but you’re amazing, oil on canvas, 36 x 48 inches (private collection)

I paint as an expression of joy and energy, morphing intention and generous piles of oils with the unexpected—layer upon layer—into a tangible and interesting surface, an array of thick and creamy marks, an opportunity to be completely immersed in the moment. The process of going from a flat, white canvas to one filled with glorious texture and colour ... there is a huge sense of satisfaction in that.

My goal is to create something subjective, intriguing and stimulating, and I strive to leave much to the imagination—for the viewer to fill in the blanks.
